A realtor friend of mine has told me a thousand times that bathrooms are extremely important in her line of work. Years ago, bathrooms were not an integral part of selling a home. It was okay if the bathroom(s) weren’t beautiful as long as you had one or two. Now, she says there is such a wide assortment of homes currently on the market that you better make sure your bathroom sings! If not, you can bet that there will be another home on the market that has functional and gorgeous bathrooms! Competition is fierce, you need to make sure you are competitive and to do that you need to make sure your bathroom is at the top of its game.

Let’s talk about your shower. If you think that potential buyers are not going to open your shower door or pull your shower curtain back, you are MISTAKEN. My realtor friend Jill, tells me that she recently showed a house that had been remodeled. She says pretty much every single room had been updated. The home had two bathrooms. One was completed but the master bathroom had NOT been touched. It was almost as if the owners had run out of money. Jill says, the buyers loved the house but the master bathroom was a deal breaker and the couple ended up buying another house two blocks away! Ouch!

Showering used to be a “in and out” process. No big deal what the surroundings looked like. Just step in, turn a blind eye and get on with it. Now, showers are spaces where homeowners want to go to relax and get rejuvenated. So, yes, if you ever want to sell your home you need to make sure your shower is TOP NOTCH!
